A collection of 300 hand-cut paper figures, installed and re-photographed. Since 2011 I've carried them with me on various trips and to residencies. I play, arrange and photograph them in sites when I feel I need a different sense of relational perspective or scale.
The ANT project poses questions of agency, identity and collectivity through looking at structures of superorganisms, duplication, and a broader cultural interest in mirroring, and doppelgängers. ANT plays with myself as a super organism to look at both the collective intelligence and the ‘distributed intelligence’ between individuals and aggregates, between scale of the body and scale of the self, in a landscape, in duration, in relation.
